MAHECAS CHARITY GIG 2nd MAY 2009 (raised £340)
Sunset Lounge, The Wirral.
Following on from last year's tremendous success the MAHECAS charity gig once again came to us early this year.
It raised £340 for Mahecas, well done to Rob Kavanagh and Bob Magee for organising it.
It was a beautiful blend of Africa, Wirral and Liverpool, there was dancing and bands playing at the Dodgy Rogers in West Kirby in a bid to raise much needed money to help distribute essential medical supplies around Malawi.
Featuring numerous live bands from the Wirral along with Creamfields favourites DJ's CantMixWontMixShdntMixDontMix and Jazzbo of the Malawi Lake Of Stars Festival.
It was a snip at £5 with all proceeds going to charity. It was a brilliant event, with many Malawians and many other guests coming to the Wirral and to enjoy this unique night!

Letter from Gerald Msukwa to Dr Charles Mwansambo, MAHECAS Coordinator in Malawi
31st August 2009
Dear charles,
As QECH we did get an assortment of glucometers, thermometors, bp machines, receivers and other surgical items. The chief matron was able to distribute them to various wards.
On behalf of the recepients, let me thank all the members of MAHECAs for their tireless effort in sourcing the items for the local hospitals. Those items go a long way in filling some gaps.
I have copied the email to the chief matron who currently is looking after QECH.
God bless.
Gerald
